February 13th, 2007 - UOIT Police Investigation

As you may already be aware, a police investigation into the creation
and sale of fraudulent identification involving a UOIT Business and
Information Technology student is underway.

In co-operation with Durham Regional Police Services (DPRS), UOIT is
asking students who may have purchased any form of illegal
identification to turn it in to DPRS to be destroyed. No charges will
be laid against students who purchased illegal identification and turn
it in to DPRS.

Any student with questions may contact Gary Pitcher, director of
Student Rights and Responsibilities at UOIT.

Any student with information about this investigation is asked to
contact Detective/Constable Katherine Denton or Detective John Van
Seter of the DPRS Fraud Unit at 905.579.1520 ext. 5281. Anonymous tips
can be made to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.TIPS (8477)
and tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.

Hahaha. So I guess someone was getting some free rides on the bus. Not to sure what else a fake student id would do for ya. It doesn't have any birth date on it? I like how they said anyone who turns in an id will face no consequences. hahaha. Who in there right mind would return a fake id to the police if they didn't know they had it lol.
